The font does a lot of quiet work on a stamp — it decides whether the seal reads as corporate, friendly or traditional. The generator lets you set the typeface (and even a different one per line), but there's one important rule when you order a physical stamp. Here's everything you need to know.

The fonts you can choose

For a stamp you intend to order physically, five clean, hard-wearing fonts are available: Arial, Open Sans, Verdana, Trebuchet MS and Courier New. Two extra serif fonts — Georgia and Times New Roman — are offered only for free digital downloads (see the next section).

Weights, and the automatic adjustment

Each text field can be Regular, Medium or Bold. Two things happen automatically to keep the impression crisp:

  • Bold is drawn with Open Sans, which holds up best as a heavy weight.
  • If you pick a non-Arial font and set it to Bold, it steps down to Medium so fine strokes don't clog with ink. That's why your "Bold" may show as "Medium" — it's protecting print quality.

Why serif fonts are download-only

Serif fonts have thin strokes and little "feet" (serifs) on each letter. On screen and in a PNG they look elegant, but on a rubber stamp those hairlines don't survive — they fill in with ink or break up, and the impression looks muddy. So Georgia and Times New Roman are available for a free download, but the physical-stamp designer doesn't list them, and if you've chosen a serif font on the homepage, ordering is blocked with a note explaining why. Switch to one of the five physical-safe fonts and ordering unlocks.

A different font per line

You don't have to use one font everywhere. The company name, the registration label, the registration number and the bottom text each have their own font setting. A common, tidy combination is a strong font for the curved company name and a plain one for the smaller centre text — but the live preview lets you experiment freely.

A quick tip for descenders

Letters like g, j, p, q and y drop below the baseline, which can shrink curved text to fit. If a field contains one, the designer offers a one-click Proceed (uppercase) option — uppercase letters sit evenly on the ring and often read cleaner on a stamp.
