A company stamp is used for years, so a small mistake is repeated on every document. These are the seven we see most often, and how to avoid each one before you order.

1. A wrong or outdated registration number

One transposed digit in a UEN makes every stamped document inaccurate. Copy the number directly from your ACRA business profile rather than typing it from memory, and check it again in the preview.

2. A name that does not match the registration

Leaving out "Pte. Ltd.", or using a trading name instead of the registered name, means the stamp does not identify the legal entity. Use the name exactly as registered — see what to put on a company stamp.

3. Too small a size for a long name

A long company name squeezed onto a small stamp produces cramped, hard-to-read text. If your name is long, choose a larger diameter. Our sizes guide helps you match the size to your name.

4. A logo with too much detail

Fine lines, gradients and tiny text in a logo blur or vanish when printed as a stamp. Simplify the logo and use a clean, high-resolution file — see adding a logo to a company stamp.

5. Uploaded artwork with blank margins

If uploaded artwork has empty space around the stamp, the stamp itself prints smaller than the size you choose. Our upload page now rejects such files and asks you to crop them. Read preparing artwork for upload to get it right first time.

6. Light colours that disappear

Pale greys and pastel details in uploaded artwork are treated as background and do not print. In the generator, custom hex colours are for digital downloads only — physical stamps use the standard ink colours. Our ink colours guide covers the options.

7. Printing the PDF at the wrong scale

Printing a print-ready PDF with "Fit to page" changes its size, so a test print looks wrong when the file is fine. Always print at 100% or "Actual size" — see cutting guide vs no guide.

How our tools help

  • The live preview in the generator shows exactly what will be produced.
  • Upload checks reject artwork that is not square or does not reach the edges, and flag low-resolution files.
  • True-size PDFs let you print and measure your stamp before it is made.

The surest check is a second pair of eyes: share your design for approval so a colleague can review the name and UEN before you order.
