When you use Upload Your Design, the page checks your artwork the moment you choose a file. The checks exist for one reason: so the stamp you receive is the size you paid for and prints clearly. Prepare your file with these six rules and it will pass first time.
1. Use a PNG
The upload accepts PNG files only. A transparent background is ideal. A plain white background is also fine, because we automatically remove white and near-white pixels.
2. Upload the whole stamp, not just a logo
The file should contain the complete stamp — outer ring, curved text and centre — exactly as it should be printed. If you only have a logo, use the stamp generator to build the stamp around it; see adding a logo to a company stamp.
3. Keep it roughly square
A round stamp belongs in a square canvas. Very wide or very tall images are rejected, because the stamp inside them would be scaled down to fit the size you choose.
4. Crop it edge to edge
This is the rule most first uploads miss. We scale your image to your chosen stamp diameter, so any blank space around the design shrinks the stamp itself. If the design covers less than about 85% of the image's width or height, it is rejected with a message asking you to crop it. Crop so the outer edge of the stamp touches all four sides of the image.
Most editors can do this automatically: use "Trim", "Crop to content" or "Trim transparent pixels", then export as PNG with transparency switched on.
5. Give it enough resolution
Larger images produce crisper stamps. Aim for at least 1000 pixels across. Files under about 300 pixels are accepted but flagged, because fine lines and small text may print blurry.
6. Design in one solid colour
A stamp prints in a single ink, so we convert your artwork to solid black. That has two consequences:
- Very light colours — pale greys, pastels, near-white — are treated as background and disappear. Make sure every line you want printed is clearly darker.
- Gradients, shadows and photographs do not translate well into a single ink. Use clean, solid shapes and text.
A quick pre-upload checklist
- PNG, transparent or plain white background.
- The whole stamp, cropped so it touches every edge.
- Roughly square, ideally 1000 pixels or more across.
- Solid, dark lines and text — no faint details.
Blank margins and faint details are two of the most common company stamp mistakes — these six rules avoid both.
